Beauty: Haul #2

Haul #2

Hey beauties, I'm back today with another beauty haul for you!
I started to realize recently that my foundation was oxidizing on my face throughout the day and really wasn't the best match to my skin tone in the first place, so new foundation, powder, and an applicator was a must. I had also been realizing that the e.l.f mascara I had been using on a day to day basis was not actually staying on my eyelashes throughout the day, so a new mascara was definitely a necessity! I managed to pick up a few more things on my trip to the drugstore, so I thought I would share them with you!
We'll go about this post in the order I would put these products on my face, so keep reading if you want to know about the new beauty products I purchased!

FACE:

The first stop on my beauty supply shopping trip was to get a new foundation. Like I mentioned earlier, my previous foundation hadn't been cutting it for me lately, so I started looking into drugstore foundations. The one foundation that kept coming up was the L'oreal Infallible pro matte and let me tell you it is heaven sent! I have never in my life had a foundation that matched my skin so well, and the finish is fabulous! All you pale girls go ahead and check it out if you're having a hard time color matching your skin tone with other foundations!

The next item that was on my shopping list was a "beauty blender" of course this is the real techniques version (which is much cheaper). I was in the market for a new makeup sponge because i love the airbrushed finish it can give your skin rather than the finish a normal makeup brush would provide. The shape of this sponge is perfect. There is a flat sloped edge that is perfect for blending foundation over the whole face, and a pointed tip that is great for blending around the eye area or even for covering up spots!

This eye lips and face High Definition Powder was kind of a spur of the moment purchase, but while perusing the makeup section I remembered that I hit pan on my favorite setting powder and thought I would try out a new one. This sheer powder claims to erase fine lines for a more airbrushed finish. I've only used the product twice and haven't noticed any miracle outcomes, but the product does the trick as a setting powder so I have no complaints.

EYES:

Like I mentioned at the beginning of this post my previous mascara was lacking in doing any sort of job for me so I decided to go for a new one. This product is WONDERFUL! Even without curling my lashed before putting this mascara on it works so well! The shape and hold it gives to my lashes is out of this world. The size of the wand is perfect for adding volume to your lashes and the curved shape of the wand allows you to get every lash and makes for a brilliant lift! This is a mascara I will definitely be repurchasing and one I highly recommend!

LIPS:

When I go shopping for beauty products I always have to have a stroll around the lipsticks because I adore lip products. I'm always looking for long-lasting lip products in a variety of colors and finishes and the Posh lipstick by e.l.f caught my eye on this particular trip. I tend to usually go for a vampy color and the berry tone of this lipstick drew me in straight away. This is an easy to wear berry color with rather a long-lasting power, but make sure you carry around a chapstick with you or apply a coat after the lipstick because it did dry my lips out just a smidgen. Overall though, I loved this lip product!

Thanks for sticking around to see what I purchased, loves.

Fashion: Most Worn Shoes

fashion

most worn shoes

HELLO LOVELY PEOPLE!
I'm happy to announce that I am back and hopefully for good! Sorry that I was M.I.A from my blog for so long. My computer ran out of storage along with my phone so I didn't have a way to upload photos, but that is old news! I'm here and ready to kick this year off with my most worn shoes! I'm a huge fan of shoes, not only because I would rather not step in gross stuff without them on, but because putting on the right pair can pull together a whole outfit!
Let's go ahead and hop right into the first pair.

WHITE LACE UPS

These babies have been worn a few too many times, but that won't stop me from wearing them a few too many more. I love these shoes because they are a simple white flat and they can pull together almost any outfit! White lace ups should be a basic in any wardrobe. Of course they look much better when hey don't have gaping holes in the front for your toes to peek out of!

CONVERSE

Sticking with the white theme the next pair of my most worn shoes I have to show you are my converse. Converse is such a classic brand and they are also really comfortable to walk in. I was lucky enough to have mine given to me by Caleb as a christmas present, but even if you have to buy them yourself they are well worth the money you will spend. No matter the color converse are a perfect shoes to chuck on with just about any outfit to stay stylish and comfy throughout your day!

NIKE'S

Another classic shoe is the Nike, and my black pair is definitely one of my most worn set of shoes. I love this style  of Nike because they are simple, stylish, and once again comfortable. As a college student comfort is key with footwear and these puppies are perfect. You can easily throw these on with jeans and a t-shirt, or you can add them to a more polished outfit and they will look just as amazing because of the color and splash of pattern on the back. Although I've only had these for a short period of time they have quickly become a staple in my growing shoe collection.

BLACK BOOTS

If you don't have a pair go out and buy some now because you are bound to need them more than once in your life. I bought these black boots at a vintage thrift store in downtown Greenville years ago and I have since worn them to a state of almost death. Once again these are a basic shoe, so it's quite easy to make an outfit out of them. Over the years I have altered mine to have a cut out near the ankle so I can show off all of my quirky socks, but cut out or not a black boot is a must!

If you've gotten this far thanks for coming along for the ride! Let me know in the comments what your most worn pair of shoes is and why you love them so much!
I'm always in the market for a new pair (;
So long for now,
Paige

Lifestyle: Admiration

Meet Gran, Calebs Grandmother.
I adore her, I love her more than life, and I want to grow to be the kind of mother, grandmother, wife, and friend that she is.
Since I find myself hoping to be half the woman that Gran is I wanted to share with you the qualities she has that I wish to obtain.
Let's get going!

#1. Gran's ability to laugh

Over the few short years I have spent with Gran she has lost the ability to do a lot of things, but she has never lost her laugh. Gran manages to find and bring the funniness to any situation and along with that comes the cutest laugh you may ever hear. I adore her for that and want to remember to always find time to laugh because I think it's grans secret to staying sane. (:

#2. Gran's willingness to listen and share

If there is anything I have learned from Gran it's that listening to and sharing with people is so important. No matter if Gran knows you or not she will stop and listen to anything you have to say. Gran showed me how much a person can benefit from listening and how the learning possibilities are endless if you just stop and listen. Gran has started to share a lot of stories from the past because Caleb and I have been dragging up old pictures it has taught me that memories and old stories, good or bad, are always worth sharing.

#3. Gran's time spent relaxing

Of course Gran no longer works and has all the time in the world to relax, but hell, the woman deserves it. From the stories I've heard from her and the rest of the family Gran was the hardest worker of all the hard workers. Not only did Gran have a job, but she also was a full time mommy, wife, and was heavily involved in church. She's pretty much a superhero. Now you'll find her sitting in the same chair every day watching t.v. in her slippers and relaxing. Just like Gran, I want to live a full life while I can and when it comes time I want to be able to veg out every day without guilt because I know I have worked my butt off to be where I am. Gran still never hesitates to offer up her help though.

#4. Gran's love of people

Gran loves humans. She absolutely can't get enough of visitors and, like I said before, she is always willing to talk to just about anybody. Right now...I'm far from that. I can't stand people. The picture above is Gran getting excited because somebody was walking into her house to see her. This is exactly how I want to be. I want to be happy when people are around me I don't want to be sitting there wishing I was alone. I want to know how to love people the way Gran loves people.  She's the best at loving people.

That's all for today, friends!
I hope you enjoyed your read and find a little time to be more like Gran!
-Paige (:

Girl Talk: Body Image

body image

Hi my girls,
For this "Girl Talk" I have decided to talk about BODY IMAGE.
This has recently become a problem for me and it's thrown me off a lot because I, myself, never thought I would have negative self-talk based on the way my body looked, but here I am having difficulty with the way my body is appearing to me.
 That's right, ME.
Nobody has told me I look unhealthy, nobody has told me my body looks ugly, nobody but myself. The way a person sees their body can be based on the thoughts of others and the pressures of the media, but in my case it's just me. I have been loosing a lot of weight recently for unknown reasons and I feel absolutely terrible about it. I look in the mirror and all I see are bones and it makes me feel so ugly. Mind you, I never have been FAT, but I have always had a little extra weight in certain areas and going from being a girl with love handles and chubby cheeks to a skeleton makes me feel icky. It's hard for me to get ready in the morning because all of the clothes I own are now baggy and not the best looking on my frame anymore.
Because of the fact that I haven't been feeling the best about my body I wanted to make this post and give you all some tips if you happen to be feeling not the best about the way you are seeing yourself.

1. Replace your negative words with positivity
-Instead of looking into the mirror and picking out what you don't like about how you look, take time to bask in the glory of your beauty and say out loud all of the positive things you love about your body. Even if they are small things they are something that you think looks lovely so acknowledge them!

2. Learn to accept compliments
-A lot of times it's easy to throw out a compliment somebody gives you when you're feeling negative about your body. However, when you learn to accept those compliments it puts a little bug in your ear that tells you "Hey, I am pretty!" or "Hey, I do look good in this outfit!"
So eat it up people, take those compliments and run!

3. Celebrate when you feel good
-If you happen to be having a particularly good day where you are feeling on top of the world about how you look GO WITH IT! Make that day spectacular. It can be a rare occasion when you feel body positive so when it happens make a whole day of it. Do your hair, put on makeup, get a little dressed up, and maybe even take a day out somewhere! Take time to celebrate the fact that you are a beautiful being!

Good luck, and stay positive.
You're all marvelously beautiful,
Paige (:

Day Date

Hello Humans!
Two weeks back Caleb and I went on a double date with Landon and Casey.
We started our day in the botanical gardens of Clemson and that night we went out to eat. I managed to grab some pictures at the gardens so here they are.
It's such a marvelous place to go for hiking, picnicking and even a small little get away from reality.
Enjoy!

Stay tuned for more blog posts over the christmas break, friends. (:

Beauty: Make-up Haul

Make-up Haul

Hi friends, so today we are adding a new section to the blog:
 BEAUTY!
I'm going to try and have a beauty related post every now and again talking about my favorite beauty products, new beauty items I've purchased, and maybe even a few step by step tutorials on make-up and hair looks.
I hope you all enjoy it, and as always let me know if you have anything specific you want me to cover (:
Now let's get into the haul!

All of the recent products I have picked up came from two very simple places:
 Walmart and Dollar General
I understand that you probably want to stop reading now because I just announced that I bought make-up from the dollar store, but just hang in there for a second and I'll tell you why it actually works!

EYES

These two marvelous babyPOP! eye shadows by L.A COLOUR are the beauties I purchased at Dollar General and let me just tell you...GIRL!!!! These shadows are bomb, and at the price of 2 for $1 you really can't beat it. To my surprise the pigment is super rich and the color stays put on my eyelids most of the day! These babies are definitely a score!

LIPS

After my purchase of these three lip products I think I have found my signature lip! These three were purchased at Walmart, once again an easy and cheap find! I'm loving the elf Matte Lip Color in Praline and the Revlon Lustrous Lipstick in Mink, and when paired on top of each other it gives me life. The elf Lip Stain, however,  isn't quite cutting it for me. While the other products stay on my lips all day and hold a vibrant color the elf lip stain tends to wear off in a dry and flakey manner and trust me ladies, it ain't cute! If you're looking for a wonderful fall lip you can't beat the price and color of the elf Matte Lip Color in Praline!

FACE

FOREVER, PEOPLE! That's how long I've been looking for a drugstore contour that doesn't make me look the shade of the pumpkin. Well folks, here it is, I have found the holy grail drugstore contour and highlight for my pale face! I'm happy to present you all with the wet n wild contouring pallet in the shade 749A Dulce De Leche. I simply can't get enough of this product! The highlight adds just a touch of light to your face, and the contour is a brilliant grayish-brown shade that works perfectly for a lighter complexion. I'll even let you in on a little secret...the contour shade is just perfect for the one-color eye shadow look!

That's all I have for today, lovelies.
Check back soon because I plan on cranking out the blog posts over my Christmas Break.
Stay Tuned,
Paige
