Travel: Photo Diary

COLORADO PHOTO DIARY

The photo above is from the first stop on our way up to the top of Pikes Peak. That was a great adventure, so I think I will start this photo diary with more photos from the rest of that day.

Our first stop on our way to the top was at this beautiful lake. There was also a gift shop, so I got my little sister a little teddy bear wearing a Pikes Peak shirt. She loved it!

When we got to the top of Pikes Peak the view was amazing. We packed out lunches for the day, so we sat around and looked at the view while we ate. Caleb is holding his sandwich up in the picture above. lol

This was my outfit for the ride up the mountain. Let me know if you guys want a full post on what I wore!

On the way back down the mountain so the boys could fish. The spot was so peaceful! It was fun for the guys, and relaxing for the girls. Perfect Spot!

The guys did a lot of fishing over the course of our trip, but I'd have to say Caleb was the fishing champ. (:

One day we went up and explored the ski town of Breckenridge, and I got a tattoo! The bow and arrow is a Native american symbol for the beginning of peace, so I thought it was very fitting for me trying to deal with my anxiety.

I snapped this picture on the way to the Denver airport to fly home. We definitely weren't ready to leave.

If you guys ever get the chance to go anywhere in Colorado I would definitely recommend it! It's gorgeous and so peaceful. The air is just so clear. I love it!! We all had such a great trip, and Caleb and I can't wait to go back. Thanks for looking through my little photo diary. (:
Stay tuned for more,
Paige

Travel: Traveling with Anxiety

travel

traveling with anxiety

Here we go.

August 11th, 2015
Tuesday
First thing is first, I'm not the realest, I'm the most terrified. Yesterday was hell because I couldn't control my anxiety. I mean, it's not like I've ever been able to control it, but yesterday I just couldn't shake it. I'm pretty sure it's because of the whole traveling thing. I don't do well with this because I have nothing but time on my hands and nothing in my hands to fill the time. That's hen it's the worst. when I have free time and nothing to do. My mind goes right to every little anxious thought it can come up with. Like I've said before, I don't know if i have much to say that will help, but putting out my experience could help somebody know they aren't alone in what they are feeling. With that being said, what I want from you guys is to comment down below this post and share what helps you fill your time while you travel, or even just on a day to day basis.
The huge deal with my anxiety is that I get overwhelmingly nauseous, and in reality it's not just when I travel. It's constant. From the time I wake up until I close my eyes for the night the nausea from  my anxiety is there. It's really the worst, but let's get back to travel anxiety... I also think a lot of my anxiety from travel comes because I don't know what to expect. There's a lot of unknown with traveling and unknown is scary for me. This mooring was really the worst because I woke up from a not so great sleep, got ready, and then had to wait on everybody else to get prepared. Once again, just time.
The two and a half hour ride to the airport was nothing, but I took a Benadryl and slept the whole way there. I felt way less anxious when we finally got to the airport because we were busy checking in and going through security and all of that jazz. I even felt a little excited and felt ready to go while we were boarding the plane. As soon as I sat down in my seat though it came back, and boy was it raging. Deep breaths. That's the only thing that helped. Because I had control over something, my breathing, I felt better. We are up in the air now and I still feel kind of nauseous, but I managed to get some crackers down that way I don't have a tummy that is anxious and nauseous.
I wish I was more help for you guys reading this with the same problem, but hey, I'm still learning too. I just hope I'm alright once we land. It's a two hour drive from the airport to the house we are staying in, so I'm hoping to sleep on the way there. For now I'm just going to try and relax and get some pictures for you of the lovely view I have. I got a window seat (:

Well guys, there you have it. The real deal. How everything went down for me. I do have good news! It got better after the 2nd or 3rd day and I was having a great time in Colorado. ANXIETY FREE! I plan on uploading a photo diary tomorrow of some of the things we did.
Keep on keeping on,
Paige

Lifestyle: Meet My Family

lifestyle

meet my family

Names (left to right): Chloe, Shawn, Paige

My family.
The above picture is definitely an accurate description of us. Right after it was taken Chloe turned around and said "Dad that's really not funny.." Typical. haha I thought it was hilarious. I labeled this post under lifestyle because i have come to realize that my lifestyle has been heavily influenced by my family. I'm not sure if I've really mentioned it before, but the only other person that I live with is my dad. The girl to the left of my Dad that looks rather similar to me would be my younger sister chloe. We are exactly two and a half years apart. She doesn't live with us. She lives 16 hours away in a little town in Kansas with my mom. That's how it's been for a few years now, but that's a whole other post. For now I'll just share with you some of the cute picture that we had taken while Chloe was here this summer.
Hope you love them as much as I do.

Everyday: Little lunch date

everyday

lunch date

Hey guys, I know I've been MIA for a short while, but I haven't really had any inspiration or any motive to write anything or take pictures. However, last week Caleb and I went out on a wonderful lunch date to Passerelle Bistro  and a snagged a few pictures. We had a great time so I thought I'd write a little something about the restaurant and our date.
Happy Reading!

This is where we ate; Passerelle Bistro. Passerelle is a small French Bistro located right above Falls Park in Greenville, South Carolina. Caleb and I were lucky enough to be seated outside in the corner seat with a perfect view of The Falls, unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of the view.
The food was outstanding! Caleb and I both had sandwiches his was open faced with a lot of greens on top, and mine was like a panini with a poached egg on top. Everybody who works there is really helpful and if you get seated outside and your dog is with you they will bring you a bowl of water for the pup too! So sweet. All in all we both really enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a nice date spot.

Look out for more,
Paige
